Progress 8 Score

This school or college does not cover the full Progress 8 period.

As a 14-19 provider, Walsall Studio School educates pupils partway through the 5-year period covered by Progress 8.  As a result, when comparing our results with schools that start at Key Stage 3, Progress 8 is not representative of the progress made by students in the two years that they are with us. Progress 8 is not the most appropriate performance measure for studio schools. Typically we start educating pupils at age 14, with a focus on preparing pupils for their future careers by providing an integrated academic and professional education. Therefore, other headline measures, particularly pupil destinations, are a more important and accurate measure of performance for us.

EBacc Entries

Walsall Studio Schools provides a specialist technical and professional education, particularly for students who have a desire to progress in creative and health related fields. As a result, Walsall Studio School’s curriculum does not support EBacc entry as our specialist curriculum is not compatible with the full EBacc qualification structure.

Other Headline Measures

Students achieving a good pass (grade 4 or above) in English and Maths = 34%
