QMGS –  Biology Lab Technician – Term time only, 37 hours per week – Required from September 2020

 We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Biology Lab Technician to join our busy and well-resourced department after the retirement of the current post-holder. Our Biology Department and the wider sciences of the school consist of hard working and diligent staff, within a collaborative ethos.

Pay range:  NJC Pay Scale 5-6 (FTE £18,795 – £19,171), actual salary £15,837

QMGS –  Student Services Manager 

 As part of our continued drive to improve the welfare support for our students, we wish to appoint a Student Services Manager. The successful candidate will manage the new Student Welfare Hub, being the first point of contact for student concerns and supporting the provision for SEND and SEMH work within the school 

Queen Mary’s Grammar School has a national reputation for achievement, with 77% of students achieving 7-9 grades at GCSE in 2019. The School is a happy, rewarding place and the role will support our well-motivated young men and women to reach their full potential and prepare for life beyond. We recognise the pressures young people face and have developed our mental health and SEND provision extensively over the past few years. In 2019, we were featured in the book ‘Just Great Teaching’ by Ross Morrison-Mcgill for our work on student mental health. 

The Student Welfare Hub is an exciting new venture in this journey and will be completed for the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year. It will include flexible office/meeting space for the provision of SEND and SEMH services.

Pay range: This term-time role is based on NJC salary scale for Local Government employees (Scale point 12-15) from 8.30am to 4.00pm. The Full time Equivalent is £21,589 – £22,911.
