WSS – 16-19 Academic Mentor, 37.5 hours per week, hours of work 8:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday

Walsall Studio School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team. 

The 16 – 19 Academic Mentor will be required to work under the guidance of the Director of Teaching and Learning and department leaders to support the planning, deliver and assessment of learning for individual students and small groups.

Working 1:1 and with small groups of allocated students, the role will require you to deliver GCSE maths, English and specialist Level 3 vocational programmes to students who have not achieved a grade 4 in English and/or maths, as well as students taking specialist vocational programmes with a grade 4 who need additional support to maximise progress. Sixth form students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) will also be a major target of the role, particularly where they have experienced additional disruption to learning because of their specific needs and disabilities. 

The applicants should have QTS and a good knowledge of supporting core subjects (English and maths). Experience of supporting vocational ‘creative industry’ programmes of study would be an advantage. The candidate must have relevant similar experience in an educational setting.

Pay range: SCP 22-24, Term Time only + 1 week (£18,319 – £19,819) Actual Salary

WSS – Cleaner / Lunchtime Supervisor (Fixed Term to 23rd July 2021)

 Walsall Studio School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team. 

The Cleaner/Lunchtime Supervisor will be responsible in supporting the Facilities Manager to ensure that the school is a suitable and safe environment for staff to work and students to learn. 

The applicants should have experience of cleaning, ideally in a school setting. All applicants should have a qualification/certificate in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene, or should be willing to undertake this. 

A good knowledge of how schools work is crucial to understanding the flexible approach needed to ensure the school can run effectively. Staff should be committed to working as part of a close-knit team.
